A comparison that is actually no comparison!

A side by side comparison between our
LED Fiberoptic Pro-Otoscope powered by a LED light
source and a W/A Fiberoptic Otoscope powered by a
halogen light bulb . Both had batteries that were fully charged
with the picture being taken under day light conditions
A typical halogen bulb has a normal lifespan of
6 months to a year with normal use. It also begins degrading and
losing its brightness the first time you turn it on. Many
practioners believe you should replace halogen bulbs after every
20 hours of use due to this degradation in light quality. Please
click the link on the Family Practice notebook website to
confirm this.
Our LED bulb has a
rated life is 25 years if you turned it on and let it run
continuously. It would also show no degradation at all over
these 25 years.
All Incandescent bulbs including halogen contain a fragile filament
that can be easily broken if the otoscope drops from your hands.
The LED bulb is virtually indestructible.
The LED also
burns cool and uses a fiftieth of the electricity
of a typical halogen powered otoscope meaning ordinary set of C
cell alkaline batteries will last for months under normal use.
Our LED light produces full spectrum light
similar to sunshine instead of the unnatural yellow light of an
incandescent. Click to learn more about
full spectrum lighting.

Our lens is a scratch resistant
optical quality glass. The
W/A model uses an acrylic plastic lens.

Highest quality chrome plated brass construction guaranteed
to never tarnish or oxidize. Size and weight of our otoscope is
comparable to the standard Welch Allyn model. Also included is a
Luer Lock Mount like the Welch Allyn that is guaranteed to last
a lifetime.
